Shotgun Ranges: BESA has three trap ranges. In addition, one of the ranges is set up as a skeet course including high and low houses, and one range is set for 5-stand shooting.

BESA is the official field for the Minnesota State High School Clay Target shooting teams of White Bear Lake and Mahtomedi high schools.

Rifle/Pistol Ranges: All ranges are constructed with 3 walls, overhead roof, concrete floors, sound proofing, and wood chipped aprons. Ranges also include shooting tables, stools, and sand bags. The 25-yard range has adjustable targets for close range pistol shooting, with set targets on the 50 yard and 100 yard ranges.

Club House Facilities: Both the Shotgun and Rifle ranges have their own modern club house facility with running water and flush toilets for fowl weather comfort and classroom training. In addition there are picnic tables and park style grills as well as a barbecue pit large enough to grill a small to medium sized elephant.

The Archery Practice Range has lighting for 24/7 use and is located next to the rifle range clubhouse. The Practice Range has an elevated deck, bag & 3D targets from 10 yds – 80 yds, and special use targets specifically designed for broadheads and crossbows.

Both 3D courses and the Field course are just a short walk from the clubhouse and are open year round with various shooting opportunities for both members and the general public.

The 3D courses wind their way through rolling hills, marshes, grasslands, pines and 100 year old Oak forests. On the 3D trails archers will encounter a wide variety of Rinehart targets set at distances from 10 to 70+ yards. The unique combination of landscapes along with a multiple loop trail system and elevated shooting platforms provides for several miles of constantly changing shooting challenges.
The 14 target Field course is over rolling hills though pines, prairie and marshlands. Targets are set at marked distances from 20 ft to 80 yards. The combination of changing elevations along with shooting into and out of shade and sun make for very challenging shooting conditions. Depending on the week targets on the field course will either be field, hunter or animal face targets.

Member Hours: BESA is open to “Members Only” self-supervised shooting from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday year round except designated quiet holidays. BESA closes in deference to it’s neighbors for the Memorial Day weekend, Labor day weekend, and for the entire week of Independence Day.

Public Hours: Bald Eagle is open for public shooting every Saturday from April to October, from 10AM to 5PM and the six Sundays prior to Minnesota Deer Opener from 11-4. Range rates are per gun.
